Blaster Coils for points, electronic or MSD ignitions: With a stock points style ignition, a ballast resistor must be placed in-line with the positive terminal of the coil The following Blaster Coils are supplied with a 0.8 ohm ballast resistor plus a terminal and boot to fit most applications Mallory Unilite applications also require the ballast resistor.
Points ignition systems require this ballast resistor included with kit in addition to any original resistor or resistor wiring.

Note: The ballast is not necessary if an MSD 6 or 7 series ignition control is being used with the points distributor.
